Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before your first EMS session at Bodylab.

What is EMS training?

EMS (electrical muscle stimulation) training uses a suit fitted with electrodes that send gentle impulses to your muscles while you exercise. This makes your muscles work harder, so a 20-minute session can activate up to 90% of your muscles at once.

How long is a session, and how often should I train?

Each EMS session is 20 minutes. You can start with as little as one session a week. Your trainer will recommend a schedule based on your goals and your Evolt 360 body scan.

Is EMS training safe?

Yes. Every session is one-on-one or in a micro group with an Xbody EMS certified trainer, who adjusts the intensity for each muscle group to what feels right for you. Sessions are low impact on your joints. Before your first session you complete an indemnity form, and if you're pregnant, have a pacemaker, epilepsy or another medical condition, please tell us so we can advise you or ask you to check with your doctor first.

What should I wear and bring?

We provide the EMS suit. Just bring comfortable training shoes, a water bottle and a towel, and arrive well hydrated.

Does it hurt?

No. You'll feel a tingling sensation and strong muscle contractions, but your trainer controls the intensity throughout and keeps it at a level that's challenging but comfortable.

When will I see results?

Results depend on your goals, consistency and nutrition, but many clients start to feel a difference within a few weeks. Your progress is tracked with regular Evolt 360 body scans.

What is the Evolt 360 body scan?

It's a quick scan that measures your body composition, such as muscle, fat and water. We use it to set your goals, calculate your macros and track your progress over time.

What is the difference between Group and One-on-One EMS training?

Group EMS is a micro-group session with a qualified EMS instructor. One-on-One EMS is fully personalised with your own trainer and includes lifestyle coaching. Both include Evolt body scans, a nutrition guide, a personalised macro calculator and supplement advice.

Do you offer discounts?

Yes. We offer discounts for people aged 60 and older, for students, and when you sign up together with friends or family. Ask our team for the current specials, including our Black November deals.

What are Pressotherapy and HIFEM RF treatments?

Pressotherapy is air compression therapy that supports lymphatic drainage and recovery after training. HIFEM RF uses electromagnetic and radiofrequency technology for muscle toning, firming and non-invasive body contouring.

Can I try it first?

Yes! Your first demo session is free. Book it online or send us a WhatsApp, and we'll find a time that suits you.
